Preston North End vs West Bromwich Albion 2:1 West Brom WIN (AH:0,-0.5)

West Brom have been on a role recently especailly with the form of a rejuvinated Kevin Phillips, who has smashed the back of the net 16 times in the league only. Preston have been sitting in the relegation zone for a while now and while they impressed many in the FA Cup against Derby, I can definitely say its a one off show against a struggling Derby. Zoltan Gera is back in the midfield for WBA, which should steady them in the middle of the park. WBA will need to secure this win against a struggling Preston to hold on to the pressure of Bristol City, Watford and Stoke. West Brom have been particularly aggressive in their runs and that can be seen by a +27 Goal Difference compared to the next team that has a +11 Goal difference.

Racing Santander vs Real Zaragoza 2:2 Racing Santander WIN (AH: 0,-0.5)

I will have to give credit to Teddie for making me aware of this one. I really can’t understand how the bookies have given this line to Racing especially when they are so strong at home with a record of 6-2-1 compared to Zaragoza 1-2-6. Racing have outscored their opponents by 7 goals in their home fixtures, and when you look at the Spanish League, a lot of home support does it for the crowd. After a beautiful win in midweek by Racing, they are only going to get stronger to push on from now. They currently occupy one of the possible UEFA Cup spots, and will be looking to march on to put pressure on Espanyol to secure victory in this game. Zaragoza have only won 2 out of their last 6 games and look to be under the gun especially with former Valencia stalwarts Aimar and Ayala.

Empoli vs Fiorentina 0:2 Fiorentina WIN (AH:0,-0.5)

These 2 teams are a mirror of each others records, while Empoli has 3 wins, 7 draws and 9 losses, Fiorentina are 9 wins, 7 draws and 3 losses. Clearly the difference is visiable with Empoli struggling in 19th, compared to Fiorentina are 4th and are on a 3 match unbeaten run with Adrian Mutu firing all cylinders as he hit the net 12 times this season already. Mario Alberto Santana and Chrisitan Vieri should join him up front as coach Prandelli looks to name an unchanged side from the one that beat Livorno in one of the more devastating attacks in Serie A. With Fiorentina look to secure a spot in the Champions League next year, they will know that unless they are able to knock off opponents like Empoli, they will be sure to struggle in Europe’s Elite competition.

Guinea v Morocco 3:2 Morocco 0, -0.5

Post by: kather on October 8th, 2008 | File Under bettingguide

Morocco started to attack from the first whistle against Namibia. They scored a goal already in the first minute and it was clear how the game will end. Four other times keeper of Namibia had to pull out the ball from his net and Alloudi scored a hat trick. In the match of the second round against guinea, if they won Morocco could move on to the knock-out stage of the competition. They are aware of the quality their rival have but they are also self-confident after a convincing victory. Ghana play against outsiders (Namibia) in the second round and that is why Morocco must play to win so they can win the first place in the end of group competition and in the next stage play against the second team in group B.
