Both players are facing their first real test today in 3rd round. Maybe Ferrero started more convincing that his opponent today, he won both games in straight sets, while Nalbandian lost one set against Luczak. Nalbandian ended last season very impressive, he won Masters in Madrid and Paris beating all Top3 players and that makes him a favourite in this match. Both players have great allround game, Nalbandian has one of the best backhands in the game, while Ferrero is known for his strong forehand, so it will very interesting to see how this is going to end. This is Nalby’s first tournament this season, while Ferrero played in Auckland last weak where he reached the final, so IMO he is slightly better shape, so Nalbandian will have to try very hard to reach the 4th round. H”H is tied at 2-2, Ferrero won last two matches, but those matches were played more than 2 years ago, so it’s no garanty what will happen today. I see a close encounter, a five setter perhaps, so I see over 38.5 games a good bet.

Stepanek - Spadea 6:2, 6:2, 5:7, 2:6, 3:6 Over 36.5 games

Both started this year well. Stepanek retired his first game this year in Adelaide, but after that in Sidney he played in semi final where he lost to Guccione, but that was good tournament for him. He showed nice games and he beat Robredo, Seppi and Calleri.
